A McDonald’s ad placed on NYC subways has been getting residents from Far Rockaway the penisula in Queens a little mad. It reads “To not falling asleep and ending up in Far Rockaway (Unless, of Course you live there!)”. The ad is promoting McDonald’s Iced Coffee, our boy Aaron sent us this picture and seems like this guy needs some Iced Coffee before he ends up in Far Rockaway, Unless, of course he lives there!
Located 2 Blocks from our previous Secret Society store front our boys from All the Right opened a newer, bigger and better location right in the heart of Elmhurst. Located at 91-30 Corona Avenue (Corner of 92nd Street and Corona Avenue) Elmhurst, NY 11373 right across the street from that bangin’ Colombian Arepa and Chuzo (aka Shi Kabobs in english) spot. They previously used to be located on the Corner of Junction Blvd and 37 Avenue, I think this is spot is a much better look for them and Elmhurst. They carry brands like Crooks & Castles, 10 Deep, Clae, Bograt and MORE IMPORTANTLY our Secret Society Label. They are also big on the Graffiti scene and carry any type of material a graff head needs. So stop in and tell George or Big Lou we sent ya and support QUEENS! Check out a tour after the jump…

Waka Flocka Flames to much surprise is from Queens, I do hate to admit it but he is! Although he has some catchy club bangers he is one of the reasons to the current WACK state of hip-hop. I will not be going into a biography or any further information on him, but it was a sad day when I found out he’s from Queens! A definite FAIL BANG BANG BANG! FREE GUCCI!

Making sure everyone is fully aware of the new Skate park which opened up in October. The park is next to the Astoria Pool in Astoria Park under the RFK Bridge (Formally known as the Tri-boro Bridge). I had a chance to see first hand and it looks great as well as a Skaters dream. The city dropped 1.25 million to trick it out. This is definitetly a great look for Queens!

Watch out now! Popular ’90s hip-hop outfit The Beatnuts will be starring in Deez Nuts, a play written and conceived by hip-hop journalist and founding member of the ego trip collective Sacha Jenkins. XXLMag.com recently chopped it up with Sacha to speak on the project.
According to Jenkins, Deez Nuts follows a journalist as he interviews founding members Psycho Les and JuJu outside of a Bodega in their shared hometown of Corona, Queens. It will feature live performances by the group as well as a full cast of actors.

The gawd MC Nasty Nas happy born day!
Roxanne’s revenge was sweet indeed. Twenty-five years after the first queen of hip-hop was stiffed on her royalty checks, Dr. Roxanne Shante boasts an Ivy League Ph.D. – financed by a forgotten clause in her first record deal. “This is a story that needs to be told,” Shante said. “I’m an example that you can be a teenage mom, come from the projects, and be raised by a single parent, and you can still come out of it a doctor.” Her prognosis wasn’t as bright in the years after the ’80s icon scored a smash hit at age 14: “Roxanne’s Revenge,” a razor-tongued response to rap group UTFO’s mega-hit “Roxanne, Roxanne.”

Take a look the studio is sick enormous and gives a crazy vibe when chilling in it. We also went to the roof to spark up and keep the imagination flowing check the view…
