Here’s a look into the production behind Still Life’s custom headwear. Based in the heart of the Lower East Side, Still Life created a local buzz that spread around the city at free fall speed. With their own millinery factory in Red Hook, Brooklyn, the sky is the limit for their brand of custom tailored, hand crafted pieces. Its’s always good to see another brand in New York doing their thing. Be on the look out for bigger and better projects from Still Life NYC.

Here are some details of the most controversial tee of Fall 2008. I repeat, “Fuck SoHo” is not a subliminal stab at any of the brands present, it is just a wake up call to society. SoHo is not the only place to cop some of the illest tees and the most exclusive kicks, there are places right in your backyard. Just do what the collection says, “Think Different”.
Last night at the Nike Sportwear store at 21 Mercer St., DJ Clark Kent was spotted wearing Secret Society’s own Brooklyn Queens Day tee. The event was a first hand look at the latest Nike ACG boots, which in my eyes are pretty dope. If you don’t know already, DJ Clark Kent is a forfather of Hip-Hop. Brooklyn Queens Day is now available at Kickzstore, as well as the rest of the “Think Different” collection.
The NYC-based denim maker opens its first West Coast branch tomorrow. Located next to Nobu at the Malibu Country Mart, the store channels the brand’s American heritage concept with industrial fixtures and artifacts from the early 1900s. (What, you expected Day-Glo and Zaha?) The 1,200-square-foot outpost, designed by Earnest Sewn’s president and designer Scott Morrison (the same guy who hand-stamps each finished pair of jeans), stocks all of the brand’s collections and offers an option to order custom-made jeans. Angelenos who don’t want to fight traffic on the PCH needn’t worry: Another Earnest Sewn shop—in the Town Tire landmark space on Beverly Boulevard—will open in January.
